Stages Music Opens New Store in Grayhawk
Scottsdale, AZ – May 10th, 2009 – Stages Music (formerly known as ABC Music) celebrated the opening of their new store at Grayhawk Plaza on Saturday May 9th, 2009. The event featured live performances from local community groups including, local kids rock group - “The Squiddz”, the Highlands Church Worship Team, Flute Duo - “Alvira”, and music performances by many of the store instructors. Highlighting the event was the giveaway of a complete 5-piece “Rocks” drum kit and a Dean Flying V Electric guitar.
The 1300 square foot facility features music instrument retail with a major emphasis on music lessons. Currently, Stages Music operates two stores in the Scottsdale Community - An anchor store located on Mercer Lane, near Shea and Scottsdale Rd., and the new Grayhawk Plaza location, which was relocated from Pinnacle Peak and Scottsdale Road. The new Grayhawk store replaces the Pinnacle Peak store. “We moved our Pinnacle Peak store to meet the demands of our customers in the North Scottsdale Community just North of Scottsdale Road and the 101 freeway”, says owner George Mahoney. “More parents are seeking private music lessons for themselves and their children. We quickly realized that we needed more space to deal with all of the inquiries. Our new Grayhawk location will give us more studios and position us to within walking distance to the nearby elementary school.” The move comes at a time when budget and program cuts are threatening the music programs of the Paradise Valley and Scottsdale School Districts. “Now more than ever it is vital to be a resource to help support the music programs within the communities that we have served through the years”, says Mahoney.
The new location is located at 20801 N. Scottsdale Road., Suite 107, in the Bashas’ Shopping Center at the SE corner of Scottsdale Road and Grayhawk Drive, just North of Thompson Peak Pkwy.
Stages Music has two locations in the North Scottsdale community, featuring school band and orchestra instrument rentals, guitar, keyboard, drum and sheet music sales, in addition to providing private music lessons for most instruments and Rock & Roll Band Workshops. Collectively, Stages Music has 22 music instructors with over 250 students enrolled in private music lessons.

The 1300 square foot facility will feature music instrument retail with a major emphasis on music lessons. Stages Music and Scottsdale Studios team up
For Band Jam Workshop
Scottsdale, AZ – December 3, 2008 – Stages Music and Scottsdale Studios have combined talent and resources to host a 3-Day Band Jam Workshop. The event, which is part of the ongoing lessons program at Stages Music, will take place at Scottsdale Studios, located at 9445 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd in Scottsdale on Saturday, January 17th, Sunday, January 18th, and Monday, January 19th.
The hands-on workshop will focus on areas relevant to playing in a real rock band and preparing for a rock concert performance which will be video taped on a soundstage.

Other activities to take place during the event are a Solo Competition, and a rock performance from a local professional band in an educational seminar based format. Attendees will get first-hand information in a live question and answer session, and will have the opportunity to critique the band.

Stages Music Announces Music Instrument Scholarship Recipient
Scottsdale, AZ – Sept 1, 2008 – For the sixth consecutive year, Stages Music of Scottsdale has awarded one young musician the use of their music instrument “Rent Free” for the entire school year. We congratulate this year’s scholarship recipient, Britanee Snoke.
Britanee is in the fifth grade at Sonoran Sky Elementary School where she plays the Viola, under the direction of strings teacher, Laura Syjud. Brittanee comes from a family of musicians. Her sister Ashley plays the Viola and brother Richard plays the Trumpet. Britanee enjoys playing music with her friends and prefers the tonal range of the Viola vs the cello which she tried and found much to heavy.
This year’s scholarship winner was randomly selected on September 1stt, 2008 from single entries received at each store location during the month of August. There was no purchase required to enter. Stages Music To Award Music Instrument Scholarship
Scottsdale, AZ - July 30, 2008 – For the sixth consecutive year, Stages Music of Scottsdale will be awarding one young musician the use of their music instrument “Rent Free” for the entire school year.
The scholarship, sponsored by Veritas Instrument Rentals, one of the nations leading providers of band and orchestra instruments, was created to encourage and enhance the learning experience of young musicians.
Costs to purchase a new quality “Band Director Approved” student instrument can run anywhere from $600 to $1,500 depending on the specific instrument. With new music students often changing their mind, or changing instruments early on, it often makes sense for a student musician to begin their musical instruction on a rented instrument. Renting allows the student and economical alternative to having a superior quality instrument without having to make a major financial investment up front.
According to a Stages Music spokesperson, “We have always supported aspiring and professional musicians of all ages. It’s encouraging to see such a strong interest in music in the Scottsdale and Phoenix area school districts. We are privileged to be a part of it”.
The scholarship winner will be randomly selected on September 1stt, 2008 from entries received at each store location during the month of August. There is no purchase required to enter. Entry forms are available at each store and must be submitted in person.

Stages Music and Scottsdale Studios team up
for Music Event
Scottsdale, AZ - March 3, 2008 – Stages Music and Scottsdale Studios have combined talent and resources to host Camp Jam music clinician and Billy Joel drummer, “Liberty DeVitto”. The event, which is part of the Camp Jam “rock tour” promotional event for kids, will take place at Scottsdale Studios, located at 9445 E. Doubletree Ranch Rd in Scottsdale, on Saturday, March 29th, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The clinic will feature Liberty DeVitto (world-renowned drummer for Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks) in an intimate studio setting discussing what it takes to be in a successful band. Other activities to take place during the event are a Rock Solo Competition, and a Guitar Hero III competition. Admission to the event is free however, sign-ups for the competitions will be limited so attendees are encouraged to register in advance at www.campjam.com to ensure a slot. Rock Solo Contestants could win a free week at Camp Jam Overnight. The Guitar Hero Contestant with the highest score will win a $100 gift certificate to Stages Music and a chance to win one week free at Summer Camp Jam in Scottsdale.
This event marks the first in what promises to be a series of music events and clinics combining the efforts of Stages Music and Scottsdale Studios.
